Hey y'all
Sorry for that cheesy title, I just had to do it. Well, hasn't it been quite some time since I last wrote something here? I think we all know the answer to that. Anywho, I've just about settled down in my new lair, and in case you haven't heard, I'm STUDYING IN A COLLEGE AND TEMPORARILY LIVING BY MYSELF IN A HOSTEL now. Obviously I got the internet up and running, and everything else is pretty much going well so far, no getting caught in embarrassing situations involving hundreds of onlookers...yet, check, but I do seem to have trouble making new friends, and I haven't seen any of my housemates, nor have I met Melvin. He's my roommate BTW. No worries.
Orientation isn't exactly something students would normally look forward to, and there's a good reason for it. My first 2 days in college was filled with tedious welcoming speeches, boring tours of the college, subjects briefing and a couple of placement tests which they conveniently renamed as "Oh My English" and "Maths For Fun". Well they weren't FUN to say the least duh, but most of them did served their purposes. I can't wait till classes officially start so I can be my nerdy self again, naw just kidding. But honestly I really wanna experience that brand new learning "ecosystem", brand new as in different from high school. Plus, I will be stepping into uncharted territories. And in case you don't know what I'm talking about, I pretty much abandoned the science subs and taken economics and accounting instead, so that's gonna be interesting. I thinkhope.
It's only been about a week since I left home and I'm already starting to develop homesickness. I find myself constantly checking Facebook timelines of the people back home, targeting for long weekends, staring at my phone screen every night waiting for mom to call, or anyone for that matter, wrapping myself under the covers in bed during lunch break reminiscing of the good times, the symptoms are terrifying really. I guess it's only natural when you're so far away from home, surrounded by complete strangers, having every meal at your study facing the wall, acting busy on your phone so people won't think you are a lonely asshole, and I don't even care how others looked at me but still I'm doing it I don't know why. Just so you know I'm firmly against phone-stacking.
My weekend was pretty fun-filled if it's worth mentioning. I crashed at my cousin's den and we ran errands, window-shopped, well she window-shopped I bought something for mom, went hiking and ya know, other stuffs people do on a fun-filled weekend, which btw does not include the part where I accidentally pepper-sprayed us both. Tragic, but at least we know it works.
Well, that's all the bullshit for now, leaving the rest for next time. Byeeee.
